After installing the latest software update (December 2023) of the Crash Recovery System, for all users with a CRS Full Edition it is now possible to query vehicles from Switzerland via the number plate. This will support even more first responders in quickly and easily searching for the correct vehicle information at the scene of an accident.

Now that the selection procedure with number plate search in the CRS is also available in Switzerland, the total number of countries where number plate search is active comes to 13. These are Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, and thus Switzerland.

Selection with license plate search
In the Selection with registration number screen, the registration number of the relevant vehicle can be typed in. Besides manual entry, it is also possible to scan the registration number. To do this, click on the camera icon, after which your device’s camera will automatically open, and by pointing the device at the vehicle registration number, you can scan it. Thanks to our Vehicle Identification Service (VIS), the license plate is forwarded to the correct data provider, ideally resulting in one search result.
