LEVC electric taxis and vans in the CRS
Black cabs have dominated the streets of London for years. A classic, dignified taxi with a rich history. LEVC, which stands for London Electric Vehicle Company, have brought a very contemporary version of this iconic taxi and the VN5 van on the market. Both vehicles have now been added to the Crash Recovery System.
TX eCity – the most advanced green taxi in the world
Our cities are expanding and becoming more and more hectic. Concern about air pollution is increasing and environmental zones are being introduced. Now more than ever, people are interested in sustainable mobility solutions that are also reliable, practical and relevant.
In addition to carbon free emissions and compliance with all current environmental regulations, the advanced eCity technology of LEVC offers zero emissions and a maximum range of 489 (VN5) and 510 (TX eCity) kilometres. The lithium-ion battery with which the models are supplied has been extensively tested in the laboratory and on the road in order to satisfy the real needs of taxi drivers, so that the long term condition of the battery is only marginally affected by rapid charging compared to trickle charging.
Safety
A large airbag with 60 litre capacity provides drivers with head and neck protection. A combination of a side airbag and curtain airbags throughout the length of the passenger compartment is used for optimal protection in the event of frontal or side impact. All airbags can be fully inflated in just 30 milliseconds, faster than the blink of an eye!
Assistance & CRS
All information on the LEVC TX eCity and VN5 is included in the June update of the Crash Recovery System. Both vehicles are provided with an alternative drive. It is therefore important for technical assistance, in the event of an accident, to deactivate the drive system. For this purpose, follow the deactivation procedure in the CRS.
