Database update June 2021
In the June 2021 database update, many new vehicles have been added to the CRS. In addition, CRS Rescue Sheets for existing vehicles have been updated. The vehicles are divided into four categories, with further information provided per category.
CARS AND VANS
Many new passenger cars have been added to this category. For starters, the completely electric Audi E-tron GT. The E-tron is manufactured in collaboration with Porsche, and therefore has many similarities to the Taycan. Audi announced earlier that in 2025 it will have as many as thirty electrified models. BMW’s M3 (4dr sedan) and 4-Series (coupe- and cabriolet), Cadillac Escalade (and Escalade ESV) and Chevrolet Suburban have also been added.
From South Korea the Hyundai Elantra, Tucson, Tucson HEV, Tucson PHEV, Santa Fe HEV and Santa Fe PHEV are now available in the database, as well as a number of Genesis models (part of Hyundai), namely the G80, GV70 and GV80. The last new passenger vehicle we have added is the new generation of Nissan´s 5-door Qashqai model, which will soon be available on the market. Also new in this category is the new electric LEVC VN5 van. For more information read the article on LEVC.
Besides these new models, we have also updated and improved the Rescue Sheets of a series of existing passenger vehicles and vans, namely for the following passenger vehicles: Audi A3 (4dr sedan, 2013-2021), Mazda 2, Mercedes-Benz E-Class (5dr wagon 2016-2021), Opel Astra (5dr wagon, 2015-2021), Opel Ampera (5dr hatchback, 2011-2016), Opel Insignia (5dr wagon/hatchback, 2017-2021), Tesla Model 3 and the converted vehicles Citroen 2CV electric, Citroen 2CV Dyane Electric and Volkswagen Kever Electric. On the van front, this includes the Fiat Doblo (CNG, personenbus en bestelbus) and the converted Citroen AK 350.
TRUCKS
The most impressive new trucks in the CRS are still the DAF FAN CF electric dustcarts, that circulate as sideloaders and as crane vehicles. These DAFs are described in this article. Other new entries are the Renault C (Day Cab, Space Cab and Sleeper Cab), Renault D 2.1 (Day Cab, Sleeper Cab and Crew Cab), Volvo FH Sleeper Cab, Volvo FH Low Sleeper Cab and the Volvo FH Globetrotter Cab. Moreover, the Rescue Sheets of the Renault Trucks T (Day Cab and Sleeper Cab), Renault Trucks T High (Sleeper Cab) and Renault Trucks T Short (Day Cab) have been updated.
BUSES
In this category we have updated one Rescue Sheet. This is for the Van Hool A330 Fuel Cell, a hydroelectric bus that circulates in London. The new ISO symbols for air conditioning location, lifting points and chassis suspension have been added to the vehicle illustration.
TWO-WHEELERS
This update includes three electric two-wheelers, namely the Zero Motorcycles models FX and FXS, and the scooter Super Soco CUX.
