CRS Preview: Microlino 2.0
An innovative electric two-seater vehicle with four wheels and a length of only 2.5 meters. Is it a car? Or is it a special vehicle? We are not quite sure yet, but it is certain that the Microlino 2.0 is really entering the market. Therefore it is now added to the Crash Recovery System database. In which category remains to be decided.
Swiss interpretation of the Isetta
The Microlino, which is a cross between a scooter and a car, with its door at the front, is clearly inspired by the BMW Isetta from the last century. It will be the first vehicle in its class with a unibody construction and is designed and produced by Micro Mobility of Switzerland. This was the manufacturer that introduced the world’s first electric scooter in 1999 and has since then focused on urban mobility. According to the company, reservations for the Microlino have now risen to more than 24,000.
Drive
In addition to the choice of three model types (Urban, Dolce and Competizione), customers can also choose from three types of battery packs when purchasing the Microlino 2.0: a 6 kWh, 10.5 kWh or 14 kWh lithium-ion battery. They have a range of 95, 175 and 230 kilometres respectively. The largest battery is not expected to be available until July 2022. The charging time of these batteries is 3 to 4 hours.
CRS and rescue services
Given the fact that the Microlino is equipped with an alternative drive, it will be important for technical assistance in the event of an accident that the drive system is deactivated. For the deactivation procedure and other essential vehicle information, go through the CRS Rescue Sheet as soon as it is available in the Crash Recovery System.
Are there (special) vehicles in your area that have not yet been added to the Crash Recovery System?
